Cristiano Ronaldo ha firmato l’accordo che lo legherà all’Al-Nassr fino a giugno 2025. Dopo le indiscrezioni circolate nel tardo pomeriggio, è arrivata l’ufficialità da parte del club saudita. L’attaccante portoghese, 37 anni, dal 22 novembre scorso è senza squadra dopo la fine burrascosa del rapporto con il Manchester United e la conseguente risoluzione del contratto: in Arabia Saudita guadagnerà 200 milioni di euro all’anno tra stipendio e cessione dei diritti d’immagine al club. “Non vedo l’ora di provare un nuovo campionato di calcio in un nuovo Paese – le sue prime parole -. La visione dell’Al-Nassr mi stimola molto e sono entusiasta di unirmi ai miei nuovi compagni di squadra per cercare di aiutare il club a ottenere altri successi”.

Ronaldo archivia la propria esperienza in Europa dove ha militato dal 2002 al 2022, conquistando complessivamente 32 trofei, tra i quali spiccano 5 Champions League (di cui è capocannoniere di tutti i tempi), 4 Mondiali per Club, 2 Supercoppe Europee, 3 Premier League, 2 volte La Liga e 2 volte la Serie A, oltre ad un Europeo e a una Nations League col Portogallo. Il tutto condito dallo straordinario score di 819 goal da professionista che lo proiettano tra i più grandi di sempre nella storia di questo sport.

Solo qualche giorno fa il presidente dell’Al Nassr, Musli Al-Muammar, aveva provato a sviare tutti, smentendo qualsiasi accordo: “Le notizie che escono non sono corrette, la maggior parte di ciò che è stato scritto o detto dai media sono bugie”. Secondo CBS è già stata trovata anche la casa in cui CR7 (che dovrebbe fare da testimonial per la candidatura saudita all’organizzazione del Mondiale 2030) abiterà con Georgina e i figli, una grande villa vicino al campo di allenamento.

Il modulo preferito da Garcia è il 4-2-3-1 dove spiccano Luiz Gustavo, Talisca e Aboubakar senza dimenticare Ospina, che la scorsa estate aveva lasciato il Napoli proprio per scegliere l’Al-Nassr. Dopo dieci partite di campionato l’Al-Nassr è secondo in classifica a due punti di distanza dall’Al-Shabab.
